A great way to get involved in the life of the church is to sing in the choir!
It doesn't require much time (no more than a typical Bible study) and the benefits are numerous, but rather than explain all of this myself, I'd like you to hear from some of our choir members.
If you are of the opinion that our choir is made up of all trained voices and music majors, let me clear your thinking! Now, there are a FEW trained voices, but the majority of us are just good ole folks that just love to sing church music. For me, the music on Sunday mornings is one of the most important parts of the service—a very important part of my life for over 50 years. We would love to have you join us in our fun and worship.
—Harriet Cavness - soprano
You, an engaging, loving, and giving soul, come each Sunday to SHPC to worship God, and to thank Him for his mercy and love for us personified in His son Jesus Christ. Make a joyful noise for the Lord our God and inspire the congregation to follow your example.
—Bill Zuraitis - bass
I appreciate that we're never made to feel guilty if we miss a rehearsal, and that our goal is not perfection, but rather to glorify the Lord by helping lead worship.
—Joyce Davis - alto
As you can see, Worship Choir is a great way to connect in the life of SHPC. Even if you're not sure you want to commit to every Sunday, you are still welcome to join us for our cantata this Christmas. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 7—8:45 (7 - 7:45 for cantata) in the sanctuary.
Just remember—Christ doesn't call the gifted, he gifts the called.
