The Alpha Course

alpha

Alpha is eleven consecutive weeks of dinner, presentation and small-group discussions that tackle tough subjects like

What relevance does Jesus have for our lives?
What is the meaning of life?
         What happens when we die?
How do we deal with guilt?

Alpha is for anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith. It's a safe place to ask any question.

No signups are currently active, but we offer this course at various times. Watch for more information in the newsletter, Sunday announcements and here on the website.

If you have questions please call the church office at 892-3580 or email church AT shpc.org

Learning and laughter. Alpha is based around a series of talks which tackle the key questions at the heart of the Christian faith. Alpha believes it is possible to learn about the Christian faith and have a lot of fun at the same time. Laughter and fun are a key part of the course, breaking down barriers and enabling everyone to relax together.

P

People meeting together. Meeting and eating together give people the change to get to know each other and to develop Christian relationships.

H

Helping one another. The small groups give each person a chance to participate and help each other along the way as they discuss, study the Bible, and pray for each other.

A

Ask anything! Alpha is a place where no questions is regarded as too simple or too hostile. People are given a chance to raise their questions and discuss relevant topics in small groups after the talk.
