Are you and your mate like passing ships in the night? Come dock together at our Great Dates!
Drop off the kids and have a face-to-face date night with your spouse so you can really talk. On seven Saturdays this school year, SHPC will send you out on a great date together with your special someone. Building on the insightful book by John Gottman, The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work: A Practical Guide from the Country's Foremost Relationship Expert
, Great Dates will help spark romance with memory-making evenings built on key, marriage-enriching themes such as: communication, conflict, encouragement, creative love life, balancing roles of parent and partner. Each date evening, after a short talk that sets the stage for discussion, couples are sent out for their own private dates.
Great Dates will be on Saturday nights from 6:00 to 8:45 p.m. (child care drop off time is 5:50 p.m.) beginning September 18th. (The other dates are October 16th, November 13th, January 22th, February 14th, March 26th, and April 30th)
Whether newly wed or newly retired, quiver full or empty nest, sandwich generation or Gen-X, parents of toddler or parents of teen, ho-hum or humming along, all types of marriages benefit from the investment in great dates. The cost of the book is $12. Childcare will be provided; however, because of the constraints on nursery workers on Saturday nights, childcare is limited to children 6 months to 3rd grade. The cost is $3 per child per night with a $10 max per family per night. Minimal cost but great return for your investment!
You can sign up on Sunday mornings beginning Sunday, September 5th by bringing a check for the book to the sign up table in the narthex or right here after September 5th.
